Why considering AmericanIdiot as a Masterpiece..for two main reasons. The first is the history behind: they were working on a CD [album was gonna be named Cigarettes and Valentines] but one day the master tapes were "stolen". They always said it wasn`t their best work,and they started to work on a new album in a very short term. Second reason: the album come as a Rock Opera. And it is history of Jesus of Suburbia, a clean, lucid criticism to the Bush era, to broken dreams of new people generation sent to fight some useless [for them, not for Bush] war around the world.
